Why Doulas?
Feeling Overwhelmed?
The need is real
The fourth trimester is a beautiful, vulnerable, and at times, chaotic period.
Yet, in the American culture, parents are very under-supported. Lack of medical follow up, quick or nonexistent maternal leave, confusing or conflicting information, and baby-brain being a real, medically proven factor all contribute to difficulty navigating the postpartum period. Familial and friend support can help during this time, but it can still be overwhelming.
You’re trying to heal, trying to take care of your new baby, and trying to sift through all the information out there to do your best with little sleep and hormones raging. No wonder it can be a difficult time!
How a postpartum doula can help
A postpartum doula can help you navigate the day-to-day journey of the fourth trimester. Whether you need help with those daily household tasks that never stop, advice and resources with high quality information, learning about newborn care and lactation, or a safe place to vent, cry or process your birth and all the other changes that are happening, I am here for you.
I can help you find your rhythms and organization for your new life as well as finding appropriate personal and medical referrals and support.
The list of things to do doesn’t stop, but you shouldn’t have to carry that weight by yourself.
My commitment to you
I am passionate about helping people adjust to life with their new child. I will always provide non-judgemental support for your decisions and give care in a way that is backed by evidence.
If there is any information that I do not know, as a member of DONA international, I have a community of highly experienced doulas to reach out to at any time. I am committed to finding answers for you.
