Melody Sainvil - Postpartum Doula

I have had years of experience helping friends and family with their babies including welcoming my own daughter into our family. After having a difficult postpartum journey personally and speaking with friends about their journeys, I realized how lacking our support system for postpartum is.

In a country where we spend the most on healthcare, there is no reason our maternal health system has the worst statistics of any developed country. Even more troubling, many of these statistics are 3-4 times worse for black women and people of color.

I am committed to advocating for you and your family to your healthcare provider as necessary and advocating for systemic change for justice in birthing, living, and beyond.

I am committed to helping all people regardless of race, religion, marital status, gender or sexual orientation. All people welcome new life and all people deserve the best possible support.

Training and certifications

I have completed training with one of the most prominent doula training organization and am currently working towards certification.

I have been married to a wonderful, gregarious man since 2019. I have an energetic and goofy step-son and a spirited and sassy toddler. We also have a loving and protective german shepherd who loves our kids as much as we do. We live in Gibsonton Florida, a part of the Tampa Bay area. Outside of spending time with my family, friends, and clients, I love to spend time making, singing, and listening to music, including being on the worship team at my church.

How I got started

After speaking with my own birth doula about birth work, I learned about postpartum doulas and knew that was the right path for me. I had a huge place in my heart for new mamas and parents.
